When Benjamin was about 2, he came to me with pieces of paper stuck all over his face and said, "I ate a book."
Then I asked him to show me, and sure enough, he had eaten and torn apart The Hungry Little Caterpillar. But I couldnt' be mad, it made sense to me.
But I told him anyway, "WE don't eat books, we read them."
