I've had a tough week. By Friday last week I was a mess. I am only getting 5 hours of sleep a night and no afternoon nap. I've been struggling to function this week. You know how when you're sleep deprived, your emotions are amplified 1000 times? Mine have been out of control! She wakes up EVERY morning between 3-4am and the only way I can get her to sleep is by feeding her- something I stopped doing several months ago! Last night she was awake for 1 1/2 hours then up at 5:30am! So, I've decided it is time for her to sleep in her own room, in her own bed! We are starting tonight. I am not sure if we will go get her when she wakes up tonight or let her cry herself to sleep. I think we`may wait until the weekend for that-so I can recover. Say a prayer for us -especially mom!- as we make this new transition. Any tips or advice on how to make this easier???
Other than that, we had a great weekend! My grandparents from Oklahoma came to visit. Madeline LOVED all the attention. We went to my brother's wedding reception (pictures to come later) and had everyone over for lunch on Sunday. It was a busy weekend, but also a lot of fun. Oh, and Madeline entered her first race! Her dad pushed her in the jogging stroller. She beat me at the last minute and I'm pretty sure she came in first in the 1yr and under category. (all the other babies were wimps and just did the 1 mile walk!) She has done great with rice cereal and eats very well with a spoon now. We are on to Oatmeal this week and boy does she LOVE that! She was talking while chewing tonight. It was pretty funny to watch her and her food was bubbling out of her mouth.

Buy yourself some earplugs and set your alarm to go off every 5-10 minutes, so you can check on her. It worked for us, and 9 times out of 10 she was asleep before my alarm went off the first time. It was so hard listening to her cry, but oh so worth it. She now sleeps 12-13 hours EVERY night.
Good Luck!
Stacy
