When I was pregnant people said things like:"Oh, you're working out, you'll have no trouble losing the weight when you have your baby."
"You will have such an easy delivery because you are in such great shape."
"I bet you will be back in your old clothes when you leave the hospital."
"When you breastfeed, the weight will just fall off."
Well... apparently my weight didn't get the message because it is stuck and here to stay! With the delivery and right after I lost half the weight I'd gained. But the other half IS NOT FALLING ANYWHERE. Yes, I struggle with my weight like everyone else, I just envisioned it coming off a lot easier. I have been struggling with food consumption (obviously since the weight isn't budging). I want to eat enough to feed Madeline, but not eat too much. And the clothes... they don't fit like before I had her. Even the ones I wore at 4-5 months pregnant fit differently. I'm just sayin' it would have been nice for someone to tell me these things before I had the baby.
Other than my weight, things are wonderful. I am loving every minute of being a mom. Madeline is so much fun. When Aaron's mom was here, she suggested we get a swing. So we ordered one with some extra gift cards, and she likes it! I don't know if she will ever fall asleep in it, but she certainly likes to stare at the butterfly mobile! Here are a couple more pictures: The one at the top of the blog is my current favorite!
One day I came home to find her socks hiked up like football player's socks. Apparently Aaron didn't know about fold down frilly socks.

I love the football player socks! That's so funny, but I guess guys don't have much experience with frilly things. I love the top picture too--she's adorable!
Love her sweet smiles, she is a cutie! Don't worry about the weight...I'll tell you something I heard Merissa say once: It took 9 months to put it on, it'll take at least 9 months to come off. I understand your frustration, though, it's hard to lose baby weight!
Sorry to tell you now, but you clothes will never fit the same again. In fact, they'll fit different again after your next baby, and next and next... if you so choose. =) I thought I told you that, or maybe I just thought you should learn the way the rest of us learned that! But you can lose the weight... I think... I hope. I'm still waiting for the last ten pounds to come off on my all chocolate and pb diet.
