We were gone all week last week camping at the beach and I am just now catching up on life. I will post more pictures from our trip later (too lazy to get the cord out and upload pictures). we had a good time on our vacation. Madeline did great tent camping. She slept more at night than she does at home, and was generally content being outside. She did get a little fussier the first two days because she didn't get her long naps like she does at home, but she adjusted after that. I do feel like the worst mom in the world though because she came home with sunburn on her face! Since I can't oput sunscreen on her yet, I tried so hard to keep her out of the sun. I had a hat on her all the time, I even kept her in a little infant cabana on the beach, but she still got pink cheeks. It made me so sad everytime I looked at her.
Other news... Madeline is 3 months old today! She is growing like crazy! Her little legs are getting so chubby! She is so much more alert now and aware of what's going on around her. She prefers to look out when I'm holding her now instead of at her mommy. She has great head control now and loves the ceiling fan. She still loves playing the piano with her feet in her pack n' play. She is talking and laughing more.
We also have a child care provider! She is a lady who has an in-home day care. She only takes 5 teacher's kids. She had one opening. We met with her two weeks ago and I didn't cry when I left her house (a kajor improvement!). I left feeling really good about her actually. She seemed generally interested in Madeline. And, what impressed me was that she called us as soon as we got home to give her references. She understands how difficult it is for me to go back to work, and has wanted to make sure we feel comfortable with her. I really like her. I don't think it will be any easier leaving her to work, but I feel good knowing she is going to be well taken care of.
For now I am going to enjoy the last 23 days of my vacation.
