Well, I'm not sure what happened but I totally missed December! Did not post once! Aaron got me an IPad for my birthday/graduation gift and I've just been so busy playing on there, I forgot to log onto my computer. We had a fun month! Here are some pictures of what we've been doing.
making cookies with Mom
Listening to Santa with her best friend Elise
Getting a present from Santa

Playing with her new big girl doll house
We have also gone to the pottery store and painted some plates this week as well as done some shopping. This is such a fun age. I think I say that about every age! It keeps getting more and more fun! Madeline still loves the color purple. She has also started telling jokes. She will tell me that her favorite color is (insert any color except purple). Then I have to respond with a gasp and tell her I thought her favorite color was purple, to which she laughs and tells me it IS purple. How does she know that is funny? The other day she grabbed some candy off the counter and told me it was hers. I told her it was for me because my student gave it to me. She said again that it was hers. I showed her the tag and said, "See it says To Mommy". She pointed to the label just as I had and said, "To ME!" I had to laugh!
She still calls butterflies-fireflies, she uses complete sentences to speak and understands so much these days. She remembers directions to places like church, my sister's house, Target... and she will tell me which way to go! Even to places we've only gone to once before! She likes to go get coffee with momma and sometimes I treat her to her own coffee (nonfat strawberries and cream- no whip). When she doesn't know a character in a book's name, she says, "I can't know his/her name." Pretty cute!
We have had bouts with the terrible twos but thankfully they come on and go and usually only last a week at the most. We are currently potty training. It's been over a week and we have made some progress. Whoever said potty training could be done in three days,... well not us. She has made some great strides, but isn't there yet. I never thought I'd be so excited to see poop in the potty before!
I have so much to share with you... my new coffee experiment, a new workout plan I'm following, running goals for this year, a trip to the zoo we have planned this week... and much more. I will post again soon. For now, Happy New Year!

Oh! Can't wait for more! For the hair- probably what you're already doing. Pick it out with lots of conditioner on it and brush it before getting wet (but pick once it's wet with conditioner if you can't get a brush in it). Also, a spray bottle of water to "touch up" the curls before you go out anywhere. She's so cute!
