This was my life from Friday afternoon to Tuesday morning
I know horrible, right? 25 pages, 6,551 words later, the first three chapters of my Masters Research Project is complete. I now have a good grasp on the history of teaching grammar in schools and the best grammar teaching practices. You are enthralled with it already aren't you? I know, who am I kidding. I was even falling asleep as I proofed it. So, my life was way out of balance over those four days. I was staying up until the wee hours of the morning, and then writing all day. I mostly didn't eat but consumed way too much of this...
And I had given it up for New Year's and was doing SO good! I hated the way I felt. And you know, staying up late like that sure was easier in college! Not to mention without a child! I was able to write more on my paper at school with my room full of 7th graders than at home with one toddler. It's like I can't concentrate when she's around. I suddenly develop ADD. So, my work has to wait until she is asleep, but when we're dealing with a 25 page paper, that doesn't allow for enough time.
And can I just brag about what an amazing husband I have? Seriously! Since starting my masters, I have not cooked dinner, planned a meal even, or cleaned the house (okay maybe a few times), and I'm lucky to make it to the grocery store. Aaron has been so supportive and wonderful! He takes care of Madeline and gets things picked up in the house. I am so blessed to have such a great husband and he's such an awesome dad too!
Anyway, once it was finished yesterday, I took a good nap, worked out, and ate some vegetables. I am finally starting to feel like myself again. Now if I can just convince myself to get the rest of my homework for THIS week finished.
Wicked was amazing! I could have sat there all night and watched it again and again! Madeline and I rock out to the sound track in the car often. I let her be Glenda, and I am Alphaba. Anyway, words can not describe how great I thought it was. So wonderful!
I guess with all that fun and the BOB workout I did three weeks ago, I was asking for all that work on my paper.
Speaking of balance...
Two weekends ago, I got to go have some fun! Aaron let me have a girl's night out! I can't remember the last night I had one of these! So, 5 of us teachers went to Hollywood, ate at Eva Longoria's restaurant, Beso, and saw Wicked at the Pantages Theater! What a fun night! I look horrible in the picture, but I did have fun, really. I should have taken pictures of the food but it was SO dark inside we could barely read the menu! The small portions of food came on very big plates! It was so fancy and quite funny! Let's just say we ALL had room for dessert! The food, what little there was, was wonderful! I have baked chicken with spinach mashed potatoes! mmm!

It's called PB2. It has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter! It comes in a powder form and you just add water. I guess they press all the oils out of the peanuts, or something scientific like that. Can't wait to try it, and it looks like someone else can't either!
I've also been obsessed with making this lately:
It's called cinnamon crisps. It is a piece of flatout bread. Which is the coolest stuff ever- 9 grams of protein, 100 calories with flax! I spray cooking spray on it, 10 sprays of "I can't believe it's not butter", cinnamon and 1 stevia packet. mmmm! It's like a healthy churro! I burned my batch tonight and ran out of flatouts! I will be making a trip to the store for sure!
This recipe and the PB2 idea came from my friend whom I met at the BOB workouts.
Her name is Kristin. She is a mom of twin two-year-olds and a fitness instructor. She kicks butt at the BOB workouts! (like she's in the front and I'm in the back) I'm not even going to tell you what she can run a marathon in! She is awesome and has a great blog with yummy healthy, super easy recipes. Check her out at http://stuftmama.com/ She just posted a 3 ingredient fudge I am dying to try and it only has 1/2 a banana, PB2, and cocoa! How easy is that! Seriously! Check out her site for great recipes.
I will have to post about my breakfast obsession soon! Let's just say.. it's green!!
