Procrastinator

I preach against it to my students. I do not give them much mercy when they fall victim to it, and yet, I am also a procrastinator!
It's true. I always have been. I think I work better "under pressure".
Except right now.
What should I be doing???
Writing my article review on Higher Order Questioning strategies. Instead, I am writing you. I hate these article reviews. I'd rather be reading my novel, enjoying the cooler temps, running. ANYTHING! So, as I sit on my bed trying to block out the one year old downstairs (she is with her father), my mind is having a hard time focusing on getting this paper done (which was due 2 1/2 hours ago!).
Things I notice instead of getting my paper done:
the dog stuffed animal's paws are two different shades of tan, I wonder if they are supposed to be that way or if it's a defect.
The neighbor behind us is growing corn again- but not as much as last year, so I wonder if it will work.
Our rose bushes need trimming back.
I need salad for lunch tomorrow, but won't make it to the store tonight.
I'd rather be reading my novel I'm totally engrossed in called So Over My Head by Jenny B. Jones (it's the third in The Charmed Life series- read the first two first). Oh and it's for teenagers-so don't expect anything deep. It is my "escape my reality" novel.
Did I mention Aaron bought me a Kindle for my birthday? Best. gift. ever! I LOVE it! It would have been great to use while breast feeding!
Okay, I must whip this paper out because I have a back seat full of cherrios and prezels that needs cleaning. I can stay in this house no longer.
And... I did get my paper done and submitted. Now to think about THIS week's work. Sigh** I press on.
