The cast is off!

We are so excited! That was a long month! The cast came off today and she did great! She only cried for a minute at the very end of cutting the cast off. I took a marker to daycare today and hte kids got to "sign it" (as much as a 1 yr old and 3 yr old can sign). It was so cute to see their little markings.

I was surprised how quickly she started using it again. She is still using her left hand only to eat with- I wonder if this will make her a permanent lefty??? Boy did that cast stink! And her arm too! yuck! I was so happy to get her in the bath tonight- and so was she. She splashed and splashed in the water. I think we will need a water day this weekend!

Tonight she discovered wet grass and thought it was really neat. She also crumpled a dead leaf in her hands and liked the crunchy sound it made. She wanted more leaves. She also liked it when I blew a dandelion in her face. Amazing how much she is learning, changing and discovering every day. Still has an obsession with shoes. I did hide the one pair she wanted to wear every day! I can't believe how much she understands now! She is talking so much more these days. I now hear resemblences to words and can make out some of what she's saying now amist the jibberish.

The other day at daycare, Linda said she found Madeline sitting behind her friend Elise "combing" her hair with a toy brush! How cute is that! Wish I could've gotten a picture of that!

And my favorite thing- when I sing "Jesus Loves You" to her, she "sings" along! Oh, melts my heart every time!

Well, I should be writing my boring blog for school instead of this one.
