So tonight I am heading to the gym ready to take a toning and sculpting class. I decided to wear long pants and a cute new maternity top since I knew that I wouldn't be sweating too much in this toning class. When I get to the gym, the class I thought I signed up for (and dressed for) was full and my name was not on the class list. Frustrated, I had no choice but to take a spin (cycling) class. I take spin classes twice a week, and this week I'd missed one, so I wasn't too upset about taking a class. The only difference was that we had a guest instructor. This new guy who is going to start teaching spin at my gym. Well, I was a little frustrated because I was not dressed for spin (maternity shirt, tight-hot tank top underneath!, long pants).
10 minutes into this class I am looking at the clock, sweat dripping from my face thinking, "How am I going to make it another 50 minutes?" The girls sitting across from me said to me, "You're going to pop that baby right out in here!" Which is SOO what a pregnant woman wants to hear while she's working out! We were sprinting on our bikes; we were up and down; we were standing; I was breathing hard! I felt SOOO big and out of shape (which I know I'm not totally). It didn't help that these two skinny girls who are from his other gym came to take the class tonight. They were totally able to keep up and did really well at it while I was barely catching my breath and sweating like a pig in a roaster! (I'm not competitive or anything)
Anyway, I left the class after 40 minutes- I had had enough for one night and I was getting over heated- something I know I have to be careful about. The class: it was a great workout! I think I burned more calories than I have in a long time. I just wish I would have been prepared for it with the right clothing and mentality. Boy did I feel like I was every bit of 6 months pregnant tonight!

I think we're all just amazed you're working out that hard or at all! Way to go!
Seriously, you've got some great motivation because I think most women use being pregnant as an excuse to be lazy and get fat (I know I did!) Well, at least that's my experience around here, maybe it's different in Cali?
