Next Saturday is the Volkslauf Mud run and obstacle course. Aaron and I signed up to run in it. I've been training for this for about 10 weeks now. This morning, we went out to the course to get a sneak peak at it and try a few obstacles out- work on strategy. All I can say is thank goodness I'm on a team, and Aaron is on that team! I am on a team with two other men and another woman, plus Aaron. There is NO way I would make it over some of these obstacles without someone giving me a little boost from below. I already have bruises on my legs and arm just from today! I can't imagine what next Saturday will be like with 2,000 plus people competing at the same time!
The other thing I need to get over is the mud. Did I mention that I don't like to get dirty? I am going to have to over come that before Saturday because in the first obstacle I will have to go under the muddy water! Aaron commented that today it looked like a kindergarten playground. One person tried an obstacle, and then everyone else had to try it. I can't believe we are paying to play in the mud! I guess that inner child never does go away.
Pray that we survive next Saturday without too many injuries!
