It's hard to believe in the whirlwind that has been my life the last two months that Christmas has come and gone. Today I am left feeling, void- like I have nothing to do for the first time in.... I can't remember. It's a weird feeling. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I can find a few boxes to unpack, a room to clean, or a picture to hang, but I have no where that I am expected to be today. I've had a great first week off minus the fact that I was sick for the majority of it. Here's what's been going on:
My friend Michelle came to visit from SC. It was so great to see her, but I was sick for most of her visit and had to miss seeing her some. That was a real bummer. I was sad to see her go so soon, but I am looking into a trip to see next month maybe... we'll see.
Our house is coming along. We have a front yard now- I forgot to post that picture. It's stayed clean all week since people have been coming over often. I am really pleased with it, and it feels like home now.
Christmas Eve at my house was a success! We had a great time with my family. We ate, opened presents, and then broke out the Wii for the first time. My parents were hilarious! I think we've got them hooked and they may get one now.
Speaking of the Wii- we love it! Aaron and I have enjoyed some down time where we've been able to play it- this is something we used to love to do before we got to busy! And... I have to add that I am kicking his butt at bowling (I'd like to thank Dr. Ferris and the semester of bowling I took while at WBU).
We found renters for our house! Praise God! Aaron and I am so humbled and feel so blessed to be able to move and rent our house out. This was something that we did with a lot of prayer. We've wanted to make smart financial decisions and were definitely stressed about this working out. We are thrilled that we have found renters and they look like great people. They are in a similar situation in life that we have been in and we feel so glad to be able to help them with a place to live at this time in their lives. We know that God can work in any decision we make- weather it is in His will or not- but given the choice, we want to be in His will.
I think that is all for now. We are off to search for tile and bedroom furniture. I will post more pictures later.
