transformation

We've been remodeling (and by we I mean Aaron- I think this is his way of nesting) our new house. When we moved in I really worried that it would never feel like home. I loved my other house and wasn't sure I was quite ready to part with it. I am amazed that this house does feel cozy and like a home! I thought I'd share some more before and after pictures. There will be more to come as we continue to work on these projects. I think all that is left is the baby's room for now.
Laundry room Before:
Laundry Room after my brother-in-law built and installed cabinets (still waiting on the doors) and Aaron tiled the floor (all by himself- I'm impressed!)

The Master Bathroom Before:And after it has been painted and travertine floors were installed. Aaron went to tile shop and got an amazing deal on this travertine! It was cheaper than tile and we LOVE it!

A closer look at the floor:

And our living room before:

And after with the entertainment center my brother-in-law built us. (I need to find decorations to fill the shelves!) It is still missing two cabinet doors on the bottom. Then, I can't resist posting about our bargain! We went to a baby resale event today. It only happens twice a year, and we were invited to the presale event because we are first time parents. I still need A LOT of things- like big items. So, I made my list before we went. Aaron and I were on a mission! We were there to get deals on certain items and that was it! So, we got there early, scouted out the stuff outside and came up with a game plan. We ended up getting great deals! A pack-n-play for $20! A bouncer and Exersaucer for really cheap! And the best purchase of all... a pink rocking chair. I have wanted one of these for the nursery but regular price they are $500 plus! I found this one with the ottoman for 1/5th the price! I was hoping for a neutral green, but I will take it for the price! I figure, if we have a boy next, we can cover it. So excited about getting this chair! What a relief!

I love all of the shelves and cabinets- your bro-in-law does great work. And so does Aaron- wow! The house looks wonderful! And I totally love the new pink chair- love it!

Can Aaron please come out to help Jay with our house. And I do love your tile. It's very pretty, and he did such a good job with it being diagonal.
And the bathroom rug is EXACTLY what I've been looking for for my bathroom. We're doing white and black damask!
I think your bathroom would look awesome if you painted your vanity black.
